Membrane Structures

Our Advanced Structures Division has developed many successful projects in Japan. This division is responsible for coordinating the design, engineering, fabrication and construction of many of our permanent structures. The advanced structures we build primarily use high quality, durable Teflon®-coated woven fiberglass.

TEFLON-COATED MEMBRANE

This division uses SHEERFILL®brand Teflon-coated membrane for its exceptional durability, translucency and ease of cleaning. Highly weather resistant, it can meet fire code requirements for virtually all types of construction, and its shading coefficient (the relative amount of solar energy that enters a buildingspace) is superior to conventionalglazing. When the performance of a building's total exterior envelope is calculated (including heating, lighting and mechanical equipment costs) membrane skylighting systems can be superior to glass. Combine this energy efficiency with its durability and it is easy to see why membrane can be effective in any climate in the world. Membrane structures with spans of more than 100 meters have proven their reliability in many climates, including heavy snow zones.
